“Our daughter and son-in-law and their three children – all under five years – live in Monmouth, and our son and daughter-in-law and their two children under five years are in Bristol,” said Sheila (67).
“I was spending the week driving to Bristol, and then Monmouth, to look after our grandchildren whilst their parents were at work – and then I’d have to drive back to Cornwall on a Friday.
“Eventually we decided it would be better if we moved to be nearer our children. We chose Monmouth, rather than Bristol, because we are used to more close-knit towns and villages. We looked at various properties in-and-around the town, and then our daughter told us about new homes at King’s Wood Gate.”
Something for everyone
Offering a premium collection of three, four and five bedroom homes, King’s Wood Gate has something for everyone. Set just outside the market town of Monmouth, great commuter links offer access to Newport, Bristol, Gloucester and beyond. There are scenic views of surrounding countryside, and a vibrant town centre to enjoy.
“Having received an offer for our house in Cornwall, we chose a new-build home because we wanted to move as soon as possible and there was no chain,” added Christopher (71). “We are both retired and love the idea of a low-maintenance property.
The Morton design
“We chose the four bedroom Morton house design. Within our price range, it features an en suite master bedroom and has a well-lit and spacious lounge. The service we have had from David Wilson Homes has been excellent. Professional, helpful and friendly – before, during and after our move.
“King’s Wood Gate is situated in a really attractive area, within walking distance of the town. We like the lagoon. Also, the proposed play area will be very useful for when the grandchildren visit us.”
Current availability at King’s Wood Gate includes the four bedroom Shenton, Cornell, Holden and Winstone home designs, priced from £299,995.
