The couple married in June 2017 and lived in nearby Cimla but wanted to buy a new family home in the region.
“We had heard that Cwm Celyn was coming and, with the location being perfect and within walking distance to town, we were eager to look at the houses there,” said Sam (30). “Tonna is a lovely village and I was particularly keen to move to a new-build home that would need very little work doing to it in the coming years.
“The homes at Cwm Celyn also offered excellent value-for-money, so we decided to go to the site’s launch event. Soon after we visited, we discovered Barratt Homes’ part exchange scheme – which meant we could make a quick move without having to go through the process of selling our existing property. Straightaway, we reserved our beautiful four bedroom Kingsley house design, which offered room for our little family and for guests to stay – as my extended family lives in Yorkshire.”
Perfect for families
With over-sized windows to maximise light, the four bedroom detached Kingsley home is perfect for families. The large open-plan kitchen has a dining area with french doors leading to the garden and there is also a separate utility room. The spacious lounge is a great place for the family to relax in. Upstairs, are two double bedrooms, the master with an en suite, two single bedrooms, and a family bathroom.
“This has been a fantastic experience for us,” added Gavin (39). “The team here has been amazing. Andrea and Elaine in the sales office have been so helpful from the minute we reserved. Everyone on the site has been so friendly.
“The development itself has a warm welcoming ‘family’ feel to it. With it being new, everyone is very keen to get to know each other. There are a lot of families and our son Noah was the development’s first newborn – arriving in July.
“We’re already very settled here. The site is within walking distance to town and transport links are good too. The A465 is close – linking us to the M4. This is particularly helpful because I’m a steelworker in Port Talbot and Sam is a sonographer at Singleton Hospital in Swansea.”
With a collection of beautiful two, three and four bedroom homes built with both families and first time buyers in mind, Cwm Celyn in Tonna is a great place to call home. In the heart of the valley with the River Neath nearby and surrounded by countryside, the development also offers easy access to Swansea, Bridgend and Cardiff.
