A development of 237 new homes in Taunton has been given the go-ahead by planners with work on the first phase of development set to start shortly.
Planning permission means work will also support around 700 new jobs over the lifetime of this development which is close to good transport links, local schools and amenities.
As work gets underway, Nerrols Grange will provide roles for tradespeople, subcontractors and sales advisers – and these are set to be filled mostly by local people.
“This is great news for those wishing to settle in this area,” said Barratt sales director Andrea Pilgrim. “We think very carefully before deciding where to build new properties – and we know demand here is very high. We’re thrilled to be playing our part in bringing a whole host of new homes to people in Taunton – which has been a popular location for us in the past.”
Between the two housebuilders, Nerrols Grange will offer a range of two, three, four and five bedroom house designs.
David Wilson Homes sales director Louise Ware added: “Nerrols Grange has been created with a whole host of lifestyles in mind – from sole occupants and couples to growing families,” she said. “This is very important to us at David Wilson Homes, and to our colleagues at Barratt Homes. We know there is a need for new and accessible housing in this region, and our home designers have done us proud here.”
Offers the best of both worlds
Forming part of a new community, Nerrols Grange will offer a rural setting, surrounded by open space and the Somerset countryside. Offering the best of both worlds, the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes developments will provide easy access to all local amenities – with Taunton town centre just three miles away. The community is set to be popular among young families – with a brand new primary school right on the doorstep.
