Coffee mornings help local housebuilder raise hundreds for Macmillan

Cakes, coffee and a chat with the neighbours have helped local housebuilder David Wilson Homes raise more than £450 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The five-star housebuilder put the kettle on at its head office in Hedge End and developments across the region as part of The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, inviting residents, neighbours and staff to join for a morning of socialising.

Now the company has totted up the total and the event contributed to an impressive £461 raised by David Wilson Homes in the area.

Sales director Michelle Storer said the Macmillan coffee morning is a key date in the fundraising calendar and that the company always looks forward to joining in with the fundraising efforts.

“Cancer touches so many people’s lives and the coffee morning is a great way for everyone to get involved in the fundraising effort,’’ said Michelle. “It’s also a brilliant way to bring people together within new and existing communities. There’s nothing like getting to know your neighbours over a cuppa.”
