A major fundraising event supporting disadvantaged children in the South West is to be held for the first time in Bristol.
Five-star housebuilders Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes are organising the night at the iconic Ashton Gate Stadium on Thursday February 27. It’s in aid of KidsOut, a charity that provides positive experiences and support to vulnerable children.
KidsOut Question of Sport will be hosted by TV presenter Jonny Gould and will see guests taking part in an interactive sports quiz, fronted by football legend and quizmaster for the night – Kevin Keegan.
The black tie evening, which is being sponsored by Bristol law firm Osborne Clarke, will also feature a silent and main auction with guests bidding on a number of outstanding prizes.
A charity giving disadvantaged children positive experiences
KidsOut is a charity focused on giving disadvantaged children positive experiences to support them becoming future members of our society and workforce. The money raised will go towards providing day trips and toys to deprived children across the south west, many who have escaped domestic violence and sought sanctuary in a Women’s Aid Refuge.
Chris Burton, regional managing director from Barratt Developments plc, has been a supporter of KidsOut for many years. He said: “KidsOut is a wonderful charity and we are honoured to be supporting them. The charity works tirelessly alongside local community groups to help decide where the funds are best placed in the Bristol and South West region and we are confident that the money raised from the evening will benefit a lot of young lives.”
Gordon Moulds CBE, chief executive at KidsOut, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed with the support from so many local businesses and we are particularly grateful to Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes for spearheading the fund raising in Bristol.
“Our Question of Sport evenings are really popular up and down the country and we’re all looking forward to a terrific event in Bristol.”
